Becoming a STAC Member

STAC Backgrounder

Alliance Corporation is a member of STAC. Because of our strong belief in STAC and the mission, we encourage all contractors working in the wireless industry in Canada to become members.

The Structure, Tower and Antenna Council (STAC) was created to help maintain Canada’s enviable safety record in the communications and tower industries.

STAC assists companies in the sector by sharing important resources such as:

  • Safety alerts
  • Best practices and guidelines
  • Standards and regulations.

STAC also:

  • Actively identifies potential occupational safety hazards
  • Coordinates training seminars
  • Works with government departments and regulators to develop sensible safety regimes that serve the communications and tower industry.

STAC’s mission is driven by its member’s work on the council’s various committees.

Some of the other benefits for member companies include:

  • Access to STAC resources such as standards, best practices, guidelines and industry safety alerts.
  • Drive development and outcomes of STAC committee activities and products. Influence regulatory and government submissions on issues that affect communications or tower work.
  • Access to STAC mailing lists, new alerts and the CWTA tower email distribution list.
  • Appear before and question STAC committees about developing or ongoing issues relating to:
    • structure and antenna safety
    • standards, guidelines or training best practices
    • direct those committees to study the matter and propose solutions.
  • Network and forge relationships with other players in the tower and antenna industry.
  • Discounted rates to STAC events.
  • Demonstrate your commitment to helping ensure continued tower and antenna safety.
