According to Luis Fontecha, Siklu’s South America Business Development Manager, Siklu’s technology has been successfully deployed in the city of Medellin, Colombia, where it has been well received by the Secretariat charged with the upkeep of more than 3,000 security cameras spread around the city.

Siklu’s technology has also been praised by Mr. Juan Gabriel Pulgarin, a video-vigilance (SIES-M) camera professional. According to Pulgarin, the city of Medellin has a special typography, which makes the deployment of security cameras and infrastructure quite challenging. However, Siklu’s solution is flexible, scalable, and helps overcome the challenges inherent to the city. Pulgarin noted that this is why they decided to migrate to Siklu.
Moreover, Pulgarin commented on large-scale projects in the city that no longer suffer from ‘spectrum saturation’. He noted the recent stadium communication challenge that his department managed to solve with Siklu, enabling their security camera network to support facial analytics. With up to 10Gbps of available bandwidth, data-hungry applications are no longer a concern.
